10-year-old can join new buds sports competition

Children between 10 and 14 years old are now allowed to join the competition called the New Buds Sports 2026-2027 (Season 2) held this year. The age requirement has been reduced from 12-14 to 10-14 years old.
The competition for the 10 events is anticipated to be started from the upazila level in October.
The Directorate of Primary Education has requested educational institutions to arrange online registration of eligible children. A letter was issued to the district and upazila/thana primary education officers on Wednesday (September 9).
The online registration started from July 1 and will go on until September 10 according to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The ministry has arranged the event for encouraging children in sports across the country.
