Torres hat-trick on debut as PSG demolishes Slovan Bratislava

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) launched their campaign for a third consecutive UEFA Champions League title with a dominant 6-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday (September 9).
Recent signing Ferran Torres produced a standout performance, scoring a hat-trick on his European debut for Luis Enrique's side following his transfer from Barcelona.
Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring for the hosts in the 17th minute, converting a rebound after Nuno Mendes struck the post.
Dembélé doubled the lead shortly after, heading home when Dro Fernández's deflected shot fell into his path.
Torres scored his first goal for PSG in the 31st minute, finishing off a cross from Dembélé to make it 3-0 before halftime.
PSG maintained their offensive pressure after the restart.
Torres scored his second goal two minutes into the second half.
After a strike by Mendes was ruled out for offside, Torres completed his hat-trick by steering home a corner delivery from Dembélé.
Slovan Bratislava, managed by former Manchester City and Barcelona midfielder Yaya Touré, pulled a goal back through a clinical finish from Sharani Zuberu.
Fabián Ruiz restored PSG's five-goal cushion late in the match, controlling a loose ball inside the penalty box before slotting home the sixth goal for the French champions.
The victory provides a strong start for PSG in the Champions League group phase as they seek to become only the second team in the modern Champions League era -- after Real Madrid's three-peat from 2016 to 2018 -- to win three consecutive European crowns.
