
Pakistan's top diplomat, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, spoke to his Iranian counterpart over the phone and called on all parties to exercise restraint and de-escalate tensions in the context of the ongoing Iran-Iraq crisis, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.
A statement from the Pakistani Foreign Ministry said the call was held between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The two leaders exchanged views on the changing situation in the region.
The statement further said that Ishaq Dar stressed that dialogue and diplomacy are the only effective means to resolve conflicts and establish sustainable peace and stability in the region.
