Two individuals have died in separate train accidents in two upazilas of Pabna within 24 hours. The incidents occurred on the Pabna Dhalarchar-Majgram rail line near Singa Bazaar on Tuesday morning and at the Ishwardi Bypass railway station on Monday morning.
Pabna Sadar police arrived at the scene and alerted the Ishwardi Government Railway Police (GRP). Railway police recovered both bodies. Officials stated that the unidentified woman appears to be between 18 and 20 years old.
Local residents reported, Ahammad Ali (25), sold popcorn on trains to support his struggling family. On Monday morning, he traveled from Chatmohar station to Ishwardi Bypass railway station by train.
While attempting to board the Dhaka-bound Panchagarh Express, he slipped. He was crushed under the wheels of the train and died on the spot.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Railway (GRP) Police Station, Ziaur Rahman, confirmed the deaths. He noted that while the identity of the person killed on Monday is known, the unidentified woman's identity remains unknown.
The identity of the deceased woman has not yet confirmed.
