LAXMIPUR, July 15: A mobile court conducted by Executive Magistrate of the Deputy Commissioner's Office Md Habibur Rahman and Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon's Office Dr Mohammad Nahid Raihan fined four hospitals and diagnostic centres in the district Tk 35,000 on Tuesday afternoon.
During the drive conducted on a tip-off from the National Intelligence Service (NSI), the City Hospital was fined Tk 5,000 due to the unsanitary environment of the operation theatre and the presence of additional beds without approval, the Popular Diagnostic and Diabetes Centre was fined Tk 20,000 for not having a license, the RS Dental X-Ray Centre was fined Tk 5,000 for not having a license and commercial metres, and the Dr Awal Child Surgery Centre and General Hospital was fined Tk 5,000 for not renewing their licenses.
Meanwhile, the authorities of the Royal Medical Services closed the institution and fled after sensing the presence of the mobile court.
