Excess preservatives: BFSA orders withdrawal of food products of three companies from the market

The Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) has ordered the withdrawal of three types of food products from three establishments from the market on charges of using excessive preservatives that are harmful to human health.

According to the BFSA, the affected food products are East Cake International Food Limited's 'East Cake Pur Pitha Jam Field (Intact)', East Jibai International Limited's 'East Baker Slice Bread Milk Jam Field (Intact)' and Arboting Food Co., Ltd.'s 'Arboting Food Slice Bread Mix Jam Field (Intact)'.

The authorities have directed the three companies concerned to immediately withdraw these food products from the market and stop marketing them. At the same time, the BFSA has advised the public to refrain from purchasing or consuming the mentioned food products in the interest of public health.
