Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 2,550 Indian narcotic tablets worth an estimated Tk 204,000 during an anti-smuggling operation in the Phulbari border area of Dinajpur.
The operation was conducted on Monday (June 8, 2026) by members of the Barogram Border Outpost (BOP) under the Phulbari Battalion (29 BGB), following a long-term plan and confidential intelligence.
According to BGB officials, the raid was part of the force's ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and cross-border smuggling. During the operation, the personnel recovered 2,550 Indian narcotic tablets abandoned at the scene. However, no suspects were arrested in connection with the seizure.
Commanding Officer of Phulbari Battalion (29 BGB), Arif-Uz-Zaman, said BGB remains committed to preventing drug trafficking and other forms of smuggling along the border. He added that strict surveillance and regular operations will continue to curb cross-border crimes and recover illegal narcotics.
