One killed, another injured in Bus-CNG collision in Dinajpur

One person was killed and another injured after a Hanif Paribahan bus collided head-on with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the Tatakpur area of Birampur upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Selina Khatun, wife of journalist Touhidur Rahman Rana of Palpara village. The injured CNG driver, Afzal Hossain of Jalalpur village in Hili, is receiving treatment.

According to family members, Selina was initially treated at Birampur Upazila Health Complex before being referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. She died on the way to the hospital.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam Sarkar of Birampur Police Station said both the passenger and the CNG driver were rescued and sent to the hospital after the accident. The bus has been taken into police custody, and legal proceedings are underway.
