SBC new chairman M Nasim Ali assumes office

The officers and employees of Sadharan Bima Corporation (SBC) warmly congratulated and extended floral greetings to the corporation’s newly appointed Chairman, M Nasim Ali, on Sunday. Managing Director Md Harun-Or-Rashid (Additional Secretary), along with other senior officials of the corporation, was present on the occasion.

The Chairman emphasized the importance of advancing Bangladesh’s insurance sector, improving the quality of customer service, and ensuring transparency in all organizational activities, according to a press release.

It is worth mentioning that he is the first Bangladeshi to be recognised as an actuary in the United States and holds a BSc degree in Economics from the London School of Economics with high honours. Over a career spanning more than 35 years, he has held senior leadership positions at globally renowned multinational financial and insurance companies in the United States, including SBLI USA (President and CEO), GE Capital (Executive Vice President), AON (Senior Vice President) and AIG (Vice President).

He also successfully led the business and strategic development of the global remittance and money transfer company Transfast as its Managing Director. A politically and socially active personality, he previously served as a commissioner of the New Jersey Asian American Commission in the United States.

In addition, he has been running the Hamida Sultana Orphanage in Muktagacha, Mymensingh, his ancestral home in Bangladesh, for 100 orphans since 2010. He is also committed to contributing to insurance-sector reforms and attracting foreign investment.
