31 AL men sued over cocktail blast at Chatmohar

CHATMOHAR, PABNA, July 25: Md Major Ali, 49, son of late Miajan Sarkar of Purbatiartala Village, former joint convener of Mulgram Union Juba Dal, filed a case with Chatmohar Police Station (PS) on Thursday, accusing 31 members of the banned Awami League and its affiliates over the cocktail explosion, anti-government slogans and sabotage in Chatmohar Upazila.

According to the case report, Major was sitting at Atar Ali’s tea shop at Kayemkhola intersection in Mulgram at around 11:30 pm on Tuesday. At that time, a group of people on motorcycles and microbuses came there and shouted anti-government slogans including “Joy Bangla”.

The report also said that two cocktail explosions were launched at the plaintiff and the person with him. On information, police seized the exploded parts of the cocktail, approximately 8 to 10 kg of brick chips kept in four bags, and 10 to 12 bamboo sticks.

Officer-in-Charge of the PS Oliur Rahman confirmed the filing of the case.
