
FENI, July 27: A seasonal fruit festival was organised for children with special needs in Feni on Sunday by Narnia, a local organisation promoting the district's history and heritage.
The event took place at the auditorium of the Feni School for the Intellectually Disabled and Autistic on Mizan Road in the town.
The children were introduced to a variety of seasonal fruits, including mangoes, pineapples, palmyra fruit, guavas, bananas, lotkon, gab, amla, dates, dragon fruit, hog plums and pomelos, before being invited to taste them.
Children with special needs, their parents, teachers and members of the organisation attended the programme.
National cricketer Md Saif Uddin joined the event as a special guest.
Among those present were Narnia Senior Member Alal Uddin Alal, Vice-Presidents Dr Jahir Uddin and Zakaria Faruk, General Secretary Imon Ul Haque, Joint General Secretary Ainul Haque Emil, Treasurer Advocate Amit Majumder, Publicity, Publications and Office Secretary Muhammad Abu Taher Bhuiyan, History, Heritage and Cultural Affairs Secretary Morsheda Happy, and members Engineer Shawkat Chowdhury, Engineer Shamim Kabir Bhuiyan and Zahidul Islam.
The programme also featured a musical performance by Ainul Haque Emil, which drew an enthusiastic response from the audience.
