Two minors drown in Chatmohar pond

CHATMOHAR, PABNA, Sept 20: Two six-year-old children drowned in a pond while bathing in Sengram Village of Chatmohar Upazila in the district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased were Huzayfa, son of Mujibur Rahman, and Mahfuz, son of Rubel Hossain, both residents of Sengram. 

Local sources said the children went to the pond near their homes to bathe while other family members were away in the fields. 

They reportedly slipped into deeper water and drowned. Locals recovered their bodies later in the afternoon and took them to Atgharia Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared them dead.

Local Union Parishad Member Jahangir Alam Jony confirmed the incident.
