DU VC calls for stronger BD-Japan edn ties

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr A B M Obaidul Islam on Wednesday called for strengthening Bangladesh-Japan cooperation in higher education, research and human resource development, saying closer collaboration would create new opportunities for Bangladeshi students in higher studies and research.

He made the remarks while addressing the Japan Education Seminar 2026, organised by the Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh (JUAAB) at the Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of Dhaka University.

JUAAB President Professor Dr A T M Zakaria Azad chaired the programme. Dhaka University Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Dr Mamun Ahmed and Head of Public Relations and Culture at the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh, Yu Awagi, attended as special guests.
