RAB arrests  Badsha’s killer Ledu 

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Wednesday arrested Monowar Hossain Ledu, also known as Ledu Hasan, an expelled Jubo Dal leader and one of the accused in the murder case of BNP leader Abul Bashar Badsha, general secretary of the Nabodoy Housing Unit of the party. 

RAB-2 Commanding Officer Additional DIG Md Naimul Hasan said Ledu was arrested during a raid in Mohammadiya Housing Society area on Tuesday night following intelligence inputs.

According to RAB, Ledu supplied the weapon used by the prime suspect, Parvez, in the fatal stabbing of Badsha on July 1 following a clash over watching a Japan-Brazil football match. The allegation was also mentioned in the statement recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure by other arrested suspects in the case.

RAB said Ledu has 32 cases filed against him, including murder, illegal arms possession, extortion and narcotics offences. These include 10 cases under the Special Powers Act, two under the Explosives Act, one under the Speedy Trial Act, and an arrest warrant at Mohammadpur Police Station (PS).

At Adabor PS, he faces eight cases under the Special Powers Act, six under the Explosives Act, two cases of murder and attempted murder, and one case under the Anti-Terrorism Act. He also has a case under the Arms Act filed at Darus Salam PS.
