Private hospitals closed in Meherpur

MEHERPUR, July 30: A team of the District Health Department led by the Meherpur Civil Surgeon (CS) in a drive in Gangni Upazila of the district on Wednesday afternoon closed all activities of Hasina Private Hospital and temporarily closed X-ray activities of Molla Diagnostic Centre on various charges.

According to the drive sources, Hasina Private Hospital and Sono Diagnostic Centre had been operating without renewing their licences since 2019 and through various alleged irregularities. Upon receiving the news of the drive, the employees of the institution closed their centre and fled. Later, the Health Department declared the institution closed. Meanwhile, it was informed that general services of Molla Diagnostic Centre will continue.

CS Dr AKM Abu Sayeed said that as per the government order, raids are being conducted in various private hospitals and clinics. 
Gangni Upazila Health Complex Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Ekramul Haque, District Sanitary Inspector Nizam Uddin and Gangni Upazila Sanitary Inspector Mashiur Rahman were present in the raid.
