14,384 primary teachers to join on Oct 29

A total of 14,384 assistant teachers recommended for appointment to government primary schools will join their posts on October 29, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education said on Saturday.

The decision was taken at an emergency virtual meeting on teacher recruitment held at the ministry.

Primary and Mass Education Secretary Md Sakhawat Hossain said the government was working to complete the recruitment process, which had been delayed due to an investigation and various procedural issues.

The ministry said the teachers will be posted after joining on October 29, followed by professional training.
