Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) apprehended 431 individuals in its anti-crime campaign in various police stations in the capital in the last 24 hours.
As per reports from the police, 70 cases were registered within the same time frame.
According to Deputy Police Commissioner Niaz Mehedi’s statement on Sunday morning, the number of people arrested is composed of 39 in Ramna, 24 in Lalbagh, 45 in Wari, 40 in Motijheel, 79 in Tejgaon, 101 in Mirpur, 44 in Gulshan, 47 in Uttara, nine in Detective Branch (DB) and nine in Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit.
Police also seized one foreign pistol, two empty magazines, 14,012 Yaba tablets, 156 grams of heroin, 31 mobile phones, a private-car, a old camera.
Police, however, rescued a victim.
According to DMP, these coordinated drive operations are part of its continuing efforts to prevent crimes, eliminate drug trafficking, and contain criminals wanted in different cases, and that it will conduct more operations to ensure safety and security in the city.
