
The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 418 people in separate operations across the capital over the past 24 hours, with the highest number of arrests made in the Mirpur Division.
According to DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner Niaz Mehdi, Mirpur Division recorded 135 arrests, followed by Tejgaon with 57 and Motijheel with 48. A total of 65 cases were filed in connection with the operations.
Police also recovered three foreign-made pistols, five magazines, 38 rounds of ammunition, 4,439 yaba tablets, 1.11 kg of cannabis, communication equipment, mobile phones, cash and other items during the drives.
The arrests were made in raids conducted at different police station areas across the capital. Legal proceedings against the detainees are underway, the DMP said.
