Real Madrid hold key contract talks with Vinicius

Real Madrid are set to hold crucial contract talks with Vinicius Junior this week, but the Spanish club is reportedly unwilling to improve its previous salary offer.

According to ESPN, Madrid have offered the Brazilian forward an annual salary of around €22 million, while the player’s representatives are seeking about €30 million, leaving the two sides far apart in negotiations.

Vinicius, whose current contract expires in June 2027, would be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club from January if no extension is reached.

ESPN also reported that Real could consider selling the 26-year-old if negotiations collapse, with the club valuing him at around €150 million. Premier League champions Arsenal are said to be monitoring the situation.

Vinicius returned to Real Madrid’s pre-season training this week after the Club World Cup break and has begun working under new head coach Jose Mourinho.
