Brett Lee breaks silence on dating rumors with Preity Zinta

Former Australian pace bowler Brett Lee has finally broken his silence regarding past dating rumors involving a prominent Bollywood actress, stating that he used to pay no heed to such gossip.

Nearly a decade and a half ago, reports surfaced linking one of history's greatest fast bowlers with Bollywood actress Preity Zinta. The legendary pacer has now addressed the long-standing rumors.

Brett Lee joined the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) franchise in 2008, where Zinta was a co-owner. Lee spent two seasons with the team before moving to Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011. Rumors of a romantic link-up between the two began circulating during that brief period, though the Australian legend never paid attention to them.

Opening up about the matter in a recent interview, Lee clarified that he and Zinta were merely friends and remain so today.

"Here is a scoop for you: I have never dated any Bollywood actress," Lee told the Bombay Times. "Preity Zinta and I were great friends and still are. She was the boss of the Punjab team back then. She is an exceptionally intelligent woman, and I have tremendous respect for her."

He added, "These kinds of rumors never bothered me because I always knew the truth. People can speculate all they want, but I never let it affect me."

While Lee maintained his silence for nearly two decades, Zinta had addressed the rumors back in 2010, stating, "Every year rumors of my romance with Brett surface; these are old and stale news now. So sorry, there is no new update. Friends, yes."

Lee married Elizabeth Kemp in 2006, but the couple separated two years later, finalizing their divorce in 2009. He later tied the knot with Lana Anderson in 2014.
