Seminar on jobs in Japan held

A seminar on skill development and employment opportunities in Japan was held on Tuesday at the Bangladesh Coast Guard Technical Training Institute (BCGTTI), with certificates awarded to trainees from three batches.

Titled “Today’s Training, Tomorrow’s Journey to Japan,” the seminar focused on developing technical skills, Japanese language proficiency and professional competence among Bangladeshi youth to prepare them for jobs in Japan.

Captain Mohammad Hafizul Billah (S), psc, PCGMS, BN, Director (Logistics) of the Bangladesh Coast Guard, attended the event as the chief guest. Jun Fukuzawa, Chairman of Fukuzawa Group of Industries in Japan, attended as the special guest.

The event was presided over by Yoshida Tomohiro, CEO of High Tech Corporation. Four other representatives from Japan and a five-member delegation of Japanese expert trainers also attended.

Speakers stressed the need for closer collaboration among government institutions, training centres and the private sector to equip Bangladesh’s youth with skills required in the international labour market.
They said technical training alone was not enough to succeed in Japan, stressing the importance of Japanese language proficiency, professionalism, punctuality, a sense of responsibility and familiarity with Japanese workplace culture.
