Uttara Bank hands job to widow of slain officer Ariful Islam

Taslima Sharmin Moli, widow of late Md Ariful Islam, Principal Officer of Gopinathpur Branch, has been appointed as an employee of Uttara Bank PLC. Hon’ble Managing Director and CEO of the bank Md Abul Hashem handed over the appointment letter to her at an informal ceremony at the bank’s head office on Wednesday, says a press release. 
It may be noted that Ariful Islam was allegedly murdered by terrorists on July 6, 2026, while he was engaged in the recovery of classified loans of the bank.
Additional Managing Director Maksudul  Hasan; Deputy Managing Directors Md Rezaul Karim, Khandaker Ali Samnoon and Md Rafiul Islam were present at the ceremony. President of Bangladesh Bank Employees’ Federation (Reg. No. B-1963) Rafiqul Islam and General Secretary Kazi Abul Bashar; President of Uttara Bank Karmachari Union (Reg. No. B-1936) Mosleh Uddin and General Secretary Abu Mohd Ahsanul Habib, along with officers and staff of the bank, were also present.
