Maritime ports advised to hoist Signal 3

Meteorologists warned of squally winds reaching up to 60 km per hour over seven coastal regions, keeping sea ports on local cautionary signal number 3 following a land depression over the Bay of Bengal.
The low pressure system formed in the Bay of Bengal weakened after converting into a land depression. However, the sea remains rough. Squally winds reaching a maximum speed of 60 kilometers per hour may sweep over seven coastal regions from the choppy sea.
Consequently, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department advised Maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra to hoist local cautionary signal number 3.
Meanwhile, a Saturday morning forecast from the Storm Warning Center stated that rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds from the south or south-east, reaching speeds of 45-60 km per hour, may sweep over Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chittagong, and Cox's Bazar regions. River ports in these areas were directed to hoist river cautionary signal number 1.
Additionally, the 6-hour forecast from 7 AM indicated temporary cloudy to overcast skies over Dhaka and adjacent areas, with chances of rain and thundershowers. Winds from the south or south-east may blow at speeds of 10 to 15 km per hour.
The Meteorological Department noted daytime temperatures in Dhaka and surrounding areas would likely remain unchanged, recording 27.5 degrees Celsius at 6 AM.
A 5-day weather bulletin issued Friday evening stated that light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds may occur across many places in Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, and a few places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions by 6 PM today.
Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may fall in isolated areas, while day and night temperatures across the country could drop slightly.
