Rain, thunderstorm likely in Dhaka by 1pm

Rain or thundershowers are likely in Dhaka and surrounding areas by 1pm today, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

The forecast, issued for the six-hour period from 7am on Sunday, said the sky may remain partly cloudy at times. Southeasterly or easterly winds may blow at 10-15 kilometres per hour.

Daytime temperatures may fall slightly, the forecast said.

The temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 27.5°C at 6am today, with 82 percent humidity. The highest temperature recorded in the capital yesterday was 34.4°C, while today’s lowest was 25.2°C.

Sunset in Dhaka is expected at 6:31pm today, while sunrise tomorrow is scheduled for 5:34am.
