Prime Minister's Adviser and Spokesperson Mahdi Amin on Monday declared that the six-month tenure of the BNP government has successfully ended years of subservient foreign policy, establishing a new diplomatic posture guided by the principle of "Bangladesh First."
He made the remarks at 11:00 AM during an exchange meeting held at the "Shapla" hall of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon, marking the completion of 180 days in office for the government.
"Subservient foreign policy has ended over the past six months. Diplomatic relations will now be built on the basis of equality and fairness. There is no scope for external interference in internal affairs anymore," Mahdi Amin stated.
Highlighting economic initiatives, the spokesperson mentioned that investment-friendly policies have been adopted to boost foreign investment, alongside establishing a police force and administration free from political harassment.
Mahdi Amin noted that the government has enjoyed unprecedented public support during these six months, adding that implementation of the election manifesto began before the voting ink could even dry.
He disclosed that 200 electric buses are being imported as part of transport sector improvements. Furthermore, economic reforms and the formulation of a new pay scale for public sector employees have reached final stages.
Reiterating the administration's commitment to democratic norms, Mahdi Amin stressed that Bangladesh is being rebuilt from the ruins of 16 years of fascism, with freedom of speech and human rights fully ensured over the past six months.
