The highly successful biopic ‘Michael,’ based on the life of pop star Michael Jackson, sparked widespread discussion and controversies upon its release.

Critics claimed the film focused only on his early career while ignoring the intense scrutiny and child sexual abuse allegations that surfaced in the 1990s.

However, upcoming reports reveal that these controversial allegations will be portrayed on screen in the movie's upcoming sequel.

Jaafar Jackson, the pop star's nephew who plays the titular role, confirmed the news himself.

Reports suggest that work on the second installment of ‘Michael’ will begin soon. Speaking in a recent interview about the direction of the script, Jaafar Jackson shared his thoughts on the upcoming project.

Although he lacks direct control over the script, Jaafar stated he wants the sequel to present Michael’s perspective more clearly.

"That was someone else's story. The way others viewed it was driven by a specific agenda. As a family, our main issue all along was that no one ever heard Michael's own words. I believe it is extremely important for this to come out, especially regarding the final years of his life," Jaafar said.

Reflecting on his experience with the first film, Jaafar added, "The first movie portrayed Michael from his roots. Viewers gained a clear understanding of who he was as a human being before achieving success and becoming an icon. Because at the end of the day; he remained the same person from the 1990s until his passing."

"Michael never lost his honesty or his spirit of seeing the good in people. No matter what he endured, how he was treated, or what was said about him, he never stopped showing love and kindness. I hope audiences will deeply realize this in the second film," Jaafar noted.

The biopic ‘Michael’ crossed over 1 billion USD in worldwide box office collection following its release.

The first film depicted Michael's life up to the release of his Bad album in 1987. The narrative excluded the first child sexual abuse allegations brought against him in 1993, which will now be addressed in the sequel.
