Two arrested in Khulna Manjurul murder case

KHULNA, Aug 24: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) - 6 arrested two accused in connection with the murder of a youth Manjurul in Harintana Ashibigha area under Labanchara Police Station in the city. The arrestees were identified as Md Faruk and Masudul Islam Kader.

They were arrested from Borni Dakshinpara area of Tungipara Upazila in Gopalganj on Sunday, according to a RAB-6 press release.

RAB said miscreants hacked and shot Manjurul to death at Balur Math in the Harintana area on the evening of August 19. Later that night, at around 9:45pm, police recovered the blood-stained body of another youth, Nazmul, from the Shishubagan Ashibigha area.

According to RAB, the second killing was carried out in retaliation for the first murder.

The attackers fled the area immediately after the incidents. Separate cases were filed with Labanchara Police Station over the two killings.
Using advanced technology, RAB-6 tracked down and arrested Faruk and Kader from Borni Dakshinpara in Tungipara.

The two accused were later handed over to Labanchara Police Station for legal action.

RAB said its drives were continuing to arrest the remaining accused in connection with the killings.
