Youth stabbed to death in Narayanganj

A young man was stabbed to death by unidentified assailants in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj City.

The incident occurred in the Godnail area of Siddhirganj late Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Sajib,30, was the son of Md Jahangir Mia of Nayapara area under Siddhirganj Police Station.

According to police and local sources, Sajib went to a tea stall owned by a man named Zahid in the Dhankunda Canalpar area of Godnail on Monday night. At that time, 10 to 12 unidentified people stabbed him and fled the scene.

Later, after receiving the news, Sajib’s relatives went to the spot, rescued him and took him to the emergency department of the 300-bed Khanpur Government Hospital in Narayanganj city. The attending doctor declared him dead while he was undergoing treatment.

Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Emdadul Haque said, "they visited the scene immediately after being informed of the incident. “We suspect the killing may have been linked to previous enmity. Police operations are underway to identify and arrest those responsible,” he said.
