Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 13 sacks of fertiliser while they were allegedly being smuggled into India through the Dewanganj border in Jamalpur early Monday. No one was arrested.
BGB-35 conducted an anti-smuggling operation at Patharer Char border area in the early hours of Monday based on intelligence that fertiliser was being smuggled into India.
The seized fertiliser included eight sacks of urea, three sacks of TSP and two sacks of DAP.
BGB members could not arrest anyone as the smugglers fled during the operation.
BGB-35 Commander Lt Col Hasanur Rahman said regular patrols and anti-smuggling and anti-narcotics operations were continuing along the border.
