EC puts local election voter count at 128.78 million

EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed disclosed the figure to media at the Election Commission building on Monday.

He said voters who turned 18 by July 31 have been included in the updated list, bringing the total number of voters to 128,777,643.

Under the Voter List Act 2009, voters were given the opportunity to submit claims through Form-6, objections through Form-7, and applications for corrections through Form-8 following the publication of the draft voter list.

According to the EC's announcement, the draft voter list was published on August 9. Claims, objections and correction applications were accepted until August 24, and the applications were disposed of by August 27.
