State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obayed Islam has said Bangladesh will conduct assessment before deciding on the agreement of the Mecca Agreement.
This statement was made by her when she addressed reporters in the foreign ministry on Tuesday (September 1).
According to the state minister, Bangladesh follows the principle of ‘Bangladesh First’ while entering any multilateral body.
“We will first assess what benefits can Bangladesh get from the agreement before we make any decision,” she said.
Further, she said that Bangladesh has not received anything officially about this issue yet.
“We have not received anything officially yet. But the door is open. We will see,” she said.
