One arrested with arms and ammunition in Satkhira

RAB-6 has arrested an armed man along with locally made and foreign firearms and ammunition  in the Choubariya area of Satkhira.

An operational team from the Satkhira CPC-1 Camp under RAB-6, Khulna, conducted a special operation in the Choubariya area of Satkhira Sadar Police Station early Thursday morning based on confidential information. During the operation, the team arrested an armed individual and seized three illegal firearms and 11 rounds of ammunition.

The seized weapons included one foreign-made pistol and two locally made single-shot guns, along with 11 rounds of ammunition. The arrested individual has been identified as Ariful Islam, son of Zainal Sardar of Choubariya village in Satkhira Sadar.

Additional Superintendent of Police Zayen Uddin Muhammad Ziad, Company Commander of RAB-6 CPC-1, Satkhira, said that the illegal firearms were seized from Ariful's residence in the presence of local residents. 

Following preliminary questioning, Ariful was handed over to Satkhira Sadar Police Station after a case was filed against him under the Arms Act.
