348 arrested in anti-drug operation in Chottogram

348 people have been arrested in the Chittagong range in the last 24 hours in special anti-drug operations and regular cases.

Chittagong range DIG Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury confirmed the matter on Thursday.

Among the accused arrested across the district on Wednesday, 39 were drug dealers, 8 were drug carriers and 47 were drug users. In addition, 86 people were arrested in regular cases, 25 under Section 34 of the Police Act, five under Section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 130 under warrants and eight under sentence warrants.

He also said that 35 people have been sentenced to various terms of imprisonment through mobile courts in the anti-drug operation. At the same time, a fine of Tk 8 thousand 60 has been collected. A total of 33 drug cases have been filed in the operation.

The seized drugs include 3 thousand 284 pieces of Yaba tablets, 327 kg 704 grams of cannabis, 41 liters 25 milliliters of alcohol, two bottles of Scuff syrup and four bottles of foreign liquor.
