Coast guard recovers 40 kg Slaughtered deer in Hatiya

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has recovered a slaughtered deer in Hatiya of Noakhali.

The operation was conducted on Wednesday in an area near Char Ataur under Hatiya Upazila.

Lieutenant Md. Salman Bin Shawkat, Media Officer of the Bangladesh Coast Guard’s South Zone, said that the Coast Guard Station Hatiya conducted a special operation based on a tip-off and recovered a slaughtered deer weighing approximately 40 kilograms was recovered.

He further said that some unscrupulous meat traders fled after sensing the presence of the Coast Guard, and therefore no one could be arrested.

The recovered deer was handed over to the Hatiya Forest Department for further legal action.

The Coast Guard said that such operations to prevent the killing and smuggling of wildlife will continue in the future.
