Four found dead in four districts

Four people were found dead in separate incidents in Narayanganj, Naogaon, Pirojpur and Jamalpur districts in three days.

NARAYANGANJ: Police recovered the body of a 40-year-old man from the bank of DND Lake in Siddhirganj of the district on Thursday morning.

The man, Tapan Shil, lived in the Mizmizi Alamin Nagar area and worked at a local salon. His family home is in Sitakunda Upazila of Chattogram District, local residents said.

A man out for a morning walk spotted Tapan Shil’s body on the western side of the lake and informed the police. Later, the police recovered the body and took it to the police station.

Residents said Tapan Shil had not returned home on Wednesday night after an argument with his wife over a family matter. The cause of death was not immediately known.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Siddhirganj Police Station (PS) Md Emdadul Haque said the body would be sent to a Narayanganj hospital for an autopsy.

NAOGAON: Police recovered the hanging body of a Gram Police member from a mango orchard in Goala Kadamdanga Village of Goala Union in Sapahar Upazila of the district on Wednesday morning. 

The deceased Rubel Haque, 26, was the son of Abdur Rahman of the village. He was working as a Gram Police member in the union.

According to local and family sources, Rubel left his house at around 9:30 pm on Tuesday and did not return home at night. 

Family members searched at various places but couldn’t find him. Local people found him hanging in the mango orchard on Wednesday morning and informed the police. Later, the police recovered the body and sent it to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

PIROJPUR: Police recovered the hanging body of a tea stall owner named Md Abul Mollick, 55, from his stall at Kamerkathi Village in Nesarabad Upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.

Locals said Md Abul Mollick was a rickshaw puller earlier. For sickness, he gave up rickshaw pulling and started the tea stall at his village. Out of frustration that he couldn’t maintain his family, he might have killed self on Tuesday evening.
 
OC (Investigation) of Nesarabd PS Sanjay Majumder confirmed the matter.

JAMALPUR: Police recovered the body of a 30-year-old nurse from her bedroom at her house in the Chalapara area of Jamalpur town on Tuesday afternoon.

She was identified as Roksana Akter Shila, daughter of Abdur Rashid. She worked as a nurse at Seba General Hospital in Jamalpur. Her husband is Rafiqul Islam.

Family members said Shila had dinner around 11 pm on Monday and went to bed in good health. She was found dead in her room the following afternoon. Relatives and local residents described the death as suspicious and called for an investigation.

Jamalpur Sadar PS OC Nazmus Sakib said police recovered the body and sent it to a morgue for an autopsy.
Police were investigating the cause of death and whether anyone was involved, the OC said.
