In the 24 hours from Thursday morning to Friday morning, another person died across the country with symptoms of measles.
During the same period, 1,154 people were newly reported as suspected or confirmed measles cases. Of them, 80 were confirmed to have measles.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday (September 4).
According to the agency, a total of 888 people have died since March 15 while 99 deaths have been confirmed to be caused by measles. The number of deaths involving measles symptoms stands at 987.
During this period, the total number of suspected measles cases is 1,62,262, including 19,567 confirmed measles cases.
