Bus passenger killed as vehicle crashes into another on Bhanga Expressway

A bus passenger was killed and at least 10 others were injured when a speeding bus crashed into another bus on the Dhaka-bound lane of the Bhanga Expressway in Faridpur on Friday.

The accident occurred around 2pm in the Brahmanpara area of Azimnagar Union in Bhanga upazila.

According to highway police and local sources, a bus of Bikas Paribahan was travelling towards Dhaka when a speeding Hamim Paribahan bus hit it from behind. The deceased was a passenger of the Hamim Paribahan bus.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals. A child among the injured was in critical condition and was referred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.

The identities of the deceased and injured could not be confirmed immediately.

SI Md Muntasir of Shibchar Highway Police Station confirmed the accident.
