Bidisha bags bail

The High Court on Sunday granted bail to Bidisha Siddique, former wife of late president and Jatiya Party founder HM Ershad, in a fraud case, paving the way for her release from jail.

The HC bench comprising Justice Md Khairul Alam and Justice Md Rafizul Islam passed the order responding to a bail petition filed by Bidisha seeking bail in the case. Advocates Fazlur Rahman Khan and Masud Mia represented Bidisha before the court.

“There is no legal bar for her release from jail following the High Court order as no other case was pending against Bidisha,” Masud Mia said.
