Sex worker’s body recovered from Daulatdia brothel again

Police have recovered the bloodied body of a 28-year-old sex worker from the Daulatdia brothel in Goalanda upazila of Rajbari. Her head was reportedly crushed.

The deceased was identified as Hasi, 28.

Goalanda Ghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter on Thursday (September 10), saying the body was recovered from Md Rubel's house at around 9:30 PM on Wednesday.

Police said, "locals informed them that a sex worker was lying dead inside a room at Rubel’s house after Wednesday evening. Police from Goalanda Ghat Police Station went to the scene after receiving the information."

Later, the Crime Scene Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bangladesh Police was informed to collect evidence and conduct an initial examination of the scene.

The CID Crime Scene Unit arrived at around 9:30 PM and began collecting evidence. The body was subsequently recovered.

Talking to locals, police learned that the victim’s head had allegedly been struck with a brick, causing severe injuries and heavy bleeding that led to her death.

Regarding the detention of Hasi’s boyfriend, Mostak, the OC said he had not been detained. Since Mostak’s shop is located nearby, Hasi would sometimes visit the shop. He was brought in only for questioning, the OC said.

After the Crime Scene Unit completes its work, police will prepare an inquest report and send the body to the Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
