
NAOGAON, Sept 11: Organised by the Naogaon District branch of Bangladesh Scouts, a five-day 7th District Cub Camporee has been inaugurated by Naogaon-5 (Sadar) Constituency MP Zahidul Islam Dhalu as the chief guest on the BIAM Laboratory School and College premises on Friday morning.
Naogaon Deputy Commissioner and President of the district branch of Bangladesh Scouts Mohammad Saiful Islam chaired the programme.
Among those present were District Education Officer Shahadat Hossain, Scouts District Commissioner Golam Rasul Saklain, Secretary Mahidur Rahman, Regional Deputy Commissioner of the Rajshahi Region Kaharul Islam Joy and Naogaon District Scouts Vice-President Sharifur Rahman.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the chief guest emphasised the importance of Cub Scouts developing discipline, patriotism and humanitarian qualities. He said, “Cub Scouts must play a leading role in building a Smart Bangladesh.”
The organisers said that 480 Cub Scouts and Scouters from 60 educational institutions across Naogaon District are participating in the Camporee. The five-day event features a range of activities designed to develop the Cub Scouts’ physical, mental and intellectual skills.
