‘Widows Bay’ tops Emmys with 14 trophies

Apple TV+’s horror-comedy series "Widows Bay" dominated the 2026 Emmy Awards, winning 14 of its 19 nominations, including awards from last week’s Creative Arts Emmys.

The series won Outstanding Comedy Series, while Matthew Rhys took home Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Kate O’Flynn and Stephen Root also won supporting acting awards. Creator Katie Dippold and director Hiro Murai received honours for writing and directing respectively.

HBO’s "The Pitt" followed with seven wins from a leading 25 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series. Noah Wyle won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the second consecutive year.

Apple TV+’s "Pluribus" won six awards, with Rhea Seehorn earning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Vince Gilligan winning for writing.

"DTF St. Louis" led the limited series category with seven awards, including supporting acting wins for David Harbour and Linda Cardellini.

Mariska Hargitay hosted the ceremony, which featured musical performances, comedy sketches and a surprise appearance by Taylor Swift in an SVU-inspired sketch.
