Bangladeshi dies after fall during Jeddah missile alert

A Bangladeshi worker died after falling down the stairs while trying to leave a building roof in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, after receiving a missile alert.

Sourav Islam, 25, reportedly fell while rushing downstairs early Tuesday. His foot got caught in a wire, causing him to fall and suffer a serious head injury. He died from heavy bleeding.

Sourav, the only son of a couple from Raipura in Narsingdi, worked as an office assistant at a bank in Jeddah.

His coworkers later found him and informed police. Saudi police recovered his body from the scene.

His mother, Renu Begum, said she wanted to see her son one last time and bury him herself. His father sought government help to bring the body back to Bangladesh.

Raipura UNO Md Masud Rana said authorities would provide necessary support to bring the body home.
