Reshuffle in 6 top police posts; Kamrul Ahsan named SB Chief

The government has reshuffled six top police posts, appointing recently promoted Additional Inspector General of Police (Additional IGP) Md Kamrul Ahsan as the new chief of the Special Branch (SB).

The Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification on Thursday which was signed by Deputy Secretary Towsif Ahmed.

Under the reshuffle, Kamrul Ahsan, who was promoted to the rank of Additional IGP from his position as a DIG at Police Headquarters, has been appointed SB chief.

Additional IGP GM Azizur Rahman, principal of the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarda, has been appointed chief of Tourist Police.

Khulna Range DIG Md Mostafizur Rahman has been transferred and posted as DIG of the Dhaka Range.

Meanwhile, incumbent SB chief Sardar Nurul Amin has been transferred to Police Headquarters, while Tourist Police chief Mainul Hasan has been appointed principal of the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarda.
