HAU holds orientation prog

HABIGANJ, Sept 17: Habiganj Agricultural University (HAU) held an orientation programme on Thursday for first-year undergraduate students admitted for the 2025-26 academic session.

The programme, held at 10 am on the university campus, was chaired by Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Mozammel Haque. Jatiya Sangsad Whip and Habiganj-3 lawmaker Alhaj Md G K Gouse, also a university Syndicate member, attended as chief guest.

Welcoming the students, Alhaj Md G K Gouse urged them to contribute to the country’s agricultural development and stressed the importance of supporting farmers. 

He also said steps would be taken to address the university’s problems and facilitate its relocation to a permanent campus, and announced a Tk 5 lakh allocation for library books.

Other speakers included Habiganj-2 MP Dr Abu Mansur Sakhawat Hassan, University Grants Commission Member Prof Dr Masuma Habib, and Pro VC Prof Dr Mohammad Ismail Hossain.
