8.53 lakh students selected for Class XI admission in 2nd phase

The results of the second phase of Class XI admission for the 2026-27 academic year were published on Saturday.

The results were released at 8pm on the designated admission website. Of the 867,855 students who applied in the second phase, a total of 853,441 students have been selected for college admission after the first and second phases.

In the second phase, 56,804 students selected in the previous phase also got the opportunity to move to colleges higher on their preference lists through migration.

According to board data, a total of 4,886,215 applications were submitted in the second phase. However, 14,014 applicants were not selected for any college, including 2,205 students who obtained GPA-5 in the SSC and equivalent examinations.

Admission officials said many students failed to get their preferred colleges due to their choice of institutions, high demand for certain colleges and limited seats.

This year, 1,144,695 students passed the SSC and equivalent examinations. Of them, 834,718 applied online for Class XI admission.

There are 2,601,779 seats available in Class XI at 8,181 colleges and madrasas across the country. Against these seats, 853,441 students have been selected in the first two phases, leaving a large number of seats vacant.
