
Dhaka Bank PLC has signed a participation agreement with Bangladesh Bank under the BDT 5,000 Crore CMSME Working Capital Refinance Fund. The initiative aims to ensure affordable and easier access to working capital financing for eligible CMSME enterprises across the country.
The agreement was signed at the Bangladesh Bank Head Office recently. On behalf of Bangladesh Bank, Md Zabdul Islam, Director of the SME and Special Programs Department, and on behalf of Dhaka Bank PLC, Mukarram Hossain Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director, signed the agreement. Md. Anis Ur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest, says a press release.
Also present were Nahid Rahman, Executive Director, and Shahanaj Pervin, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank. From Dhaka Bank PLC, Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Palash, EVP and Head of MSME and Emerging Business, attended the event along with senior officials from other banks.
Under Bangladesh Bank’s BDT 60,000 Crore economic stimulus package, BDT 5,000 Crore has been allocated to provide working capital financing to CMSME enterprises �" particularly viable businesses that are unable to operate at full capacity due to working capital shortages.
Eligible CMSME enterprises will receive financing at a maximum interest rate of 9%, supporting business continuity, production, service activities, employment generation, and overall economic growth.
