Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday report that five people died of measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the 24 hours.
Three of the five deaths were reported in Dhaka division and two in Sylhet. Measles was confirmed in one of the three deceased in Dhaka, it said.
The DGHS said in a regular report sent to the media that 101 people have died of confirmed measles since March 15. Another 952 people have died with symptoms of the infectious disease. In total, 1,053 people have died of measles or measles-like symptoms over the past six months.
Dhaka division recorded the highest number of deaths, with 428, followed by Sylhet with 167.
