2 more die of dengue, 1,232 hospitalised

Two people died of dengue in the country in the 24 hours to Saturday, while 1,232 patients were hospitalised with the viral disease during the same period.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Saturday that both of the deceased had been undergoing treatment at hospitals in the Dhaka South City Corporation area. With the latest deaths, the number of dengue fatalities this year has risen to 178. A total of 60,379 patients have been hospitalised with dengue so far this year.

Of the newly admitted patients, 154 were admitted to hospitals in the Dhaka North City Corporation area and 175 in the Dhaka South City Corporation area. Another 85 patients were admitted to hospitals in other parts of Dhaka division outside the two city corporations.
