Rain began in different parts of the capital Dhaka early Sunday, bringing relief from the humid heat but causing inconvenience to many residents.

Heavy rain drenched the city, offering respite from the oppressive weather. However, students, guardians, office-goers and others who had to leave home for work or essential activities faced difficulties due to the rain.

Rain started around 4:15 AM in areas including Rampura and several other parts of the capital. Strong winds swept through the city before the rain began.

According to a forecast issued by the Storm Warning Centre of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, Dhaka and its adjoining areas could experience rain or thundershowers from midnight Saturday until 6:00 AM Sunday. The sky could remain partly cloudy to temporarily overcast during the period.

The forecast also said, winds could blow from the south or southeast at a speed of 8 to 12 kilometres per hour. Nighttime temperatures were expected to remain largely unchanged.
At midnight, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 29.9°C, with humidity at 81%. The city's maximum temperature was 35.5°C yesterday, while the minimum was 26°C.

However, no rainfall was recorded in Dhaka during the six hours preceding the midnight observation.
