NCP leader absconds with expatriate's wife in Chandpur

Reports have emerged that Sheikh Rahmat Ullah, the convener of the NCP in Shahrasti Municipality, Chandpur, has absconded with his sister-in-law.
 
The aggrieved party has filed a written complaint with the police regarding the incident.

It is reported that on the night of Saturday (September 19), Rahmat Ullah—an NCP leader—fled with Mariam Begum, the wife of his cousin Ibrahim Khalil (who works in Bahrain). Upon discovering the situation, family members began searching for them. 

Ever since they’ve fled, both of them have kept their mobile phones switched off. On Sunday morning (September 20), family members – including Rahmat Ullah's wife and the two children of the expatriate Ibrahim Khalil – arrived at the Shahrasti Model Police Station to lodge a complaint.

Jahangir Alam, Ibrahim Khalil’s brother-in-law, stated that an illicit affair had been ongoing between the two for a long time. He mentioned that he had informed his brother-in-law (Ibrahim) after the matter came to his attention. 

When the family learned of their illicit relationship, the pair absconded on Saturday night. Mariam's two daughters, Fateha Jahan, 10, and Farhan Jahan, 6, accompanied family members to the police station in search of their mother.

They stated that they had come to the station looking for their mother. Mariam Begum's father-in-law, Harunur Rashid, filed the formal complaint. He alleged that his daughter-in-law left with gold jewelry and cash. Taking the matter into account, the Shahrasti police have initiated an investigation.

Mir Mahbubur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shahrasti Model Police Station, confirmed receiving the written complaint. He stated that the matter is being treated seriously, and necessary legal actions are being taken.
